Tai Chi at Positive Tools 4 Life Wellbeing Day 2019

July 22, 2019 by bootleweb

Dao Lu will be at a local charity’s Wellbeing Day – read about it at https://www.positivetools4life.co.uk/wellbeing-day-2019/ – it’s at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall, on Saturday 10th August, from 11am to 4pm.

It’s an exciting event – all tables have been sold, and last year’s event was a huge success. See the video above – which was shot in a smaller venue.

Positive Tools 4 Life is a community-based, volunteer-run organisation aiming to support people in Waltham Forest and Barking & Dagenham suffering from stress, anxiety and depression by providing low-cost counselling and affordable wellbeing workshops and classes.

We will have a table from 11am to 4pm – to give out leaflets, information on our classes and to run a slideshow/video of our training.

From 1.30pm there will be a half hour join in session on the grass outside the Assembly Hall.

Volunteers needed for the table and to help with the join-in session. Please let us know if you can be there, or just turn up whenever you can!

Try Yoga at Pimp Hall Nature Reserve

May 3, 2019 by bootleweb

There will be an introductory yoga session with Philip Koulis, who trained in classical yoga in India. The session will comprise two hours of slow, gentle movements with theory. It complements Tai Chi practice.

It’s not modern gym-style yoga that crams as many postures in as possible. Instead, only a few postures will be covered, but with a gentle build up and with an explanation of the effects and benefits.

  • Saturday 22nd June
  • 4.30 – 6.30pm
  • Followed by picnic and walk-around the nature reserve
  • Indoors if wet
  • Bring a mat if you have one (spares will be available)
  • Flexible clothing
  • In the learning lodge, may be partly outdoors
  • Car parking available
  • £10 per person to cover instructor and room fees, for two hours
