Chen-style Tai Chi Weapons Forms

Chen Weapons forms:

  1. Chen single sabre (broad sword). This 1-hour video is divided into 6 sections. It begins with an introduction to the parts of the sword and its uses and how to hold the broad sword. The 22 postures or steps of the broad sword are divided into 5 sections of demonstration, detailed tutorial and back view. The video is produced by the same outfit that produced the hand form videos uploaded by Munn’s Tai Chi on YouTube.

  2. Chen single straight sword. These videos are less than 1 hour each and produced by the same company that produced the preceding videos, featuring Chen Zhenglei. The first video includes an Introduction to the structure and uses of the sword, basic moves, and demonstration of Section 1, with 10 named Postures or steps. Part 2 is divided into Sections 3 – 6 and shows/teaches named Postures 11 – 49.

  1. Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan. For the 2008 Olympics in China, led by Professor and Master Li Deyin, a new Kung Fu Fan (Taiji Gongfu Fan) form was designed and performed as part of the opening ceremonies. These videos are presented by Prof Li Deyin of the People’s University of China, an International Wushu Referee, Tai Chi Master, author of many books on Tai Chi, and responsible for getting Tai Chi included as an accredited course in Chinese universities. We are grateful for Lingling Lung who posted these demonstration and tutorial videos on YouTube and made them accessible to Tai Chi practitioners.
