Chen-style Tai Chi Hand Forms

  1. Chen 18, also known as First Form. This is a shortened version of Chen Lao Jia Yilu (Third Form), created to be accessible to beginners starting their Tai Chi journey.

Watch the tutorials from Chen master, Sifu Zheng Dongxi, disciple of Sifu Chen Zhenglei. We are grateful to the Foreign Aid Training Course and to Hou Fred who posted these videos on YouTube. Each of the 18 videos is about 20 minutes long and includes warm up and demonstration of the whole form. The second half of the videos is dedicated to detailed demonstration and explanation of the moves, providing tips and guides.

  1. Chen Lao Jia Yi Lu (Third form). These tutorial videos were produced by the Henan Zhongchuan Culture Communication Co, Ltd and Chinese Wushu Association. It features Sifu Chen Zhenglei, 19th generation of Chen family and 11th generation lineage descendant of Chen-style Taiji. We are thankful to Munn’s Tai Chi for uploading these videos on YouTube. The videos range from 50 minutes – over 1 hour. The videos are divided into 6 Duan or Chapters, 7 Dan Bian (Single Whip) and includes the 74 names of the movements.

Part 1 Introduction and Basic Movements – Demonstration and tutorial of all basic hand/palm, arm, leg, waist movements and weight transfer between legs used in Lao Jia Yi Lu (from 12.07 minutes)
Part 2 – Complete Demonstration – Complete demonstration of whole form, and detailed tutorial on First Duan (Chapter)
Part 3 – Demonstration and Tutorial 2nd & 3rd Duan
Part 4 – Demonstration and Tutorial 4th and 5th Duan

  1. Chen Lao Jia Er Lu (Pao Chui/Cannon Fist, Second form). These videos were produced by Henan Zhogchuan Culture Communication Co., Ltd and Chinese Wushu Association and features Sifu Chen Zhenglei.
